Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Pipita (the app and this website) handles, where it goes and what choices you have. By using Pipita you agree to what is described here.

Information you give us in the app

To use Pipita you create an account. We handle:

  • Account: your email address and password. Sign-in is provided by Firebase Authentication, so your password is managed by that service.
  • Your pets: name, type (dog or cat), breed, sex, birth date, the microchip number if you enter one, and a photo if you add one.
  • Care records: reminders and appointments (title, date, time and place), a record of when you mark them as done, and weight entries.
  • Documents: the title and the file or photo you add for a pet.
  • Notifications: a push token that identifies your device, so reminders can be delivered to it.

You choose what to enter. Pipita works without a microchip number or a photo.

Where your information is stored

Your information is stored on servers of Google, through Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage), and is linked to your account. It is not only kept on your device. Access is controlled with security rules, and we keep working to tighten them, but no system is perfectly secure.

Permissions

The app asks for permission to use your camera or photo library only when you add a photo or a document, and to show notifications for your reminders. You can refuse or change these in your phone settings; the related features will then not work.

Service providers

We rely on these services to run Pipita. They process information on our behalf:

  • Google Firebase, to store your account and data (Google Privacy Policy).
  • Expo, to deliver push notifications. Your device push token and the text of the notification pass through its push service, and then through Apple or Google to reach your phone (Expo Privacy Policy).

These providers may also receive technical data such as your IP address, device and operating system when the app connects to them. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

This website

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics. It loads the Lato font from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you open a page.

Launch waitlist

If you join the launch waitlist on this website, we collect your email address, the language of the page you used and the date you signed up. We store them with Cloudflare (Cloudflare D1) and use them only to tell you when Pipita is available. We do not sell them or use them for advertising. Cloudflare may also process technical data such as your IP address when you send the form (Cloudflare Privacy Policy).

To leave the waitlist, use this page, or send any message to unsubscribe@pipita.app from the address you signed up with. Your email is deleted from the list right away and you will not get any more emails about the launch.

Security

We value your trust in providing us your information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
